Ingredients

  • 2 green plantains (peeled and chopped)
  • 2 scoops PRONTO CHOCHO Andean Chocho Powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil (plus more for cooking)
  • 2–4 tbsp warm water (as needed)
  • ½ tsp sea salt

These Green Plantain Chocho Tortillas reimagine a traditional staple with whole-food nourishment. Made with PRONTO CHOCHO Andean Chocho Powder, they provide complete plant protein alongside naturally occurring fiber in a versatile, gluten-free wrap that supports balanced, satisfying meals from breakfast tacos to hearty grain bowls.

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add chopped green plantains and cook 8–10 minutes until fork-tender

  2. Drain well and transfer to a food processor or large bowl.

  3. Mash or blend plantains until smooth.

  4. Add olive oil (or avocado oil), salt, and PRONTO CHOCHO powder.

  5. Mix thoroughly until a soft dough forms.

  6. Add warm water gradually if needed to achieve pliable, non-sticky dough consistency.

  7. Divide dough into 6 equal portions and roll into balls.

  8. Place each ball between parchment sheets and press or roll into thin rounds.

  9. Heat a skillet over medium heat with a light coating of oil.

  10. Cook each tortilla 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden and flexible.

  11. Keep warm in a clean towel until serving.

 

Optional additions:

  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp cumin

  • Fresh chopped cilantro
